I want to try Vista out but I am confused as to what paltform I should select. Can anyone tell me if I should use the 32 bit or the 64 bit and how do you determine that. I came to this site and learned of an x86. HELP! -- AC

Confused
Well, we don't know your hardware specs, so the most likely recommendation would be Vista x86. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/capable.mspx -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Do you have an AMD Athlon64 processor? If so, try the 64 bit version.
The 64 bit version will not run on most Intel processors.
If you have an Intel, d/l the 32 bit version.
(NOTE: The Quasi-64 EM64T yada yada's need not apply).

Try the 32 bit version if in doubt. If you know your computer supports x64 e.g. has an Athlon 64 processor etc. etc. then you might try the 64 bit version or dual-boot with both versions.
If you are just "trying it out", then the 32 bit version is more than sufficient and probably more compatible with your software etc. etc.
